Iba District Supports the 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

On March 13, 2025, at exactly 2:00 PM, schools across the country will participate in the 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED). In full support of this nationwide initiative, the Iba District is committed to strengthening disaster preparedness and ensuring the safety of learners, teachers, and school personnel.
As part of the Department of Education’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) efforts, the drill will provide an opportunity for schools to practice proper earthquake response procedures, assess emergency preparedness, and reinforce the importance of “duck, cover, and hold” during seismic events.
Schools under the Iba District will conduct the drill in coordination with their respective School DRRM Coordinators, emphasizing the importance of quick and orderly evacuation, first aid response, and communication during emergencies. Prior to the drill, learners and staff will be briefed on safety protocols, emergency assembly points, and school-specific contingency plans.
This initiative aligns with the government’s goal of building a culture of safety and resilience in schools, ensuring that students and teachers are well-prepared to respond effectively to disasters. By actively participating in the 1st Quarter NSED, Iba District reaffirms its commitment to disaster readiness, emphasizing that preparedness is a shared responsibility.
